It's been 6 months since I last updated my blog. Yup, that's how busy I've been trying to juggle my work, household, marriage and myself. 24 hours has never been so little time to schedule before 🤪
Here is a quick recap of what I did for the past several months:
1. April : started my 1st scoping review & learned how to conduct one systematically.
2. May : had a family vacation with hub's side of the family & it was a blast. Went to Sabah with hub's group of friends, which was fun and tiring. A great way to bond 😆 Started a 2nd scoping review with another team. Became part of the team to edit and review booklet & buletin article.
3. June : Joined a course on IT and won all the competitions held during the course, which included a 1 Tb hard disk & 12 000 mAh powerbank. Got involved on a large scale upcoming research project - opening a new path of how such project is tackled.
4. July : handled a course and learned how such course is managed. Fairly a dry month of just learning the ropes of everything around me.
5. August : Presented my 1st poster for this year and completed my 1st RH. Participated & handled my 1st podium ever - super proud of this because of the hard work involved in making sure everything went smoothly. Covered my institute's booth for our annual conference and managed to achieved the highest number of visitors that visited our booth during my 'shift' 😄
6. September : had our 1st teambuilding in Morib and it was a blast! Blended well with other members of the institute as well as bagged the best team during the whole teambuilding programme #mestimenang
Overall, that was a quick recap of what happened to me in the past few months.
I came across a challenge on the web to write 1000 words per day for my blog - personally I don't think this is possible but I'll try my best to be consistent.
Should I tweak it to be - writing daily in my blog? This seems more plausible compared to writing 1000 words per day. But the writing challenge is a good exercise for me, considering the current field that I am in now.
Oh yes, another thing I would like to update would be about my personal goals in Health, Wealth, Work & Relationships:
I. Health : I aim to lose 1kg per month until I achieve my ideal weight. As for now, I have achieved losing 1.5kg so need to be consistent with my actions. I also aim to walk 10 000 steps per day - unfortunately this has not been consistent as I am swamped with work commitments. At most 8k steps per day is achievable. Need to amp up my efforts in this.
II. Wealth : I aim to be a millionaire by the time I am 50 years old. This is my personal aim, not my combined effort with hubs. Combined aim is another number 🤪 So daily/weekly/monthly/yearly budgeting is a must for me and hubs. So far we are on the right track but it is a very challenging road. The temptation to spend on family vacays is so so hard to resist (due to our current situation of long-distance marriage and the kids cry for affection (AND NONSENSE SPENDINGS ON SWEETS/HOTELS!) is too much for our weak souls).
III. Relationships : I aim to ensure that I spend quality time with my parents (own and in-laws) and my children every week. Time is precious and we are all aging, so let's connect while we are still healthy and able. I also aim to spend at least once per year with my group of friends to make sure we stay connected. I also want to improve my relationship with Allah - the hardest and biggest relationship that I should manage and protect. May Allah ease my efforts to do so.
IV. Work : I aim to excel at whatever I am doing. I want to be the best at what I am doing. In other to do so, I must keep on learning and adapting to my current situation as well as keep my own unique identity. I know my strengths and so I should play them to my advantage. I also know my weaknesses, and so I should improve them and keep them to a minimum. May my motivation to keep going stays high high in the sky, Aaminn~
So that is all I want to say for this session.
Till next time!
