How should I start my 1st post? I guess it's appropriate for me to introduce myself briefly. Mid 30s, fulltime working mom, faraway husband (due to work) and 4 kids (8/5/2/0).

Living someplace in Klang Valley where there is traffic, everywhere!

The reason I started this blog is for personal reason - as a coping mechanism for myself while I try hard not to get overwhelm by my daily life, my children's antics and overall trying to keep my family, work & household together.

My husband started to work somewhere in Kedah starting February 2023.

Pretty recent, I know.

Prior to that, he was working within Klang Valley, not far from my current workplace.

We carpooled together for the past 2 1/2 years, bought breakfast together and sometimes, had lunch together. Of course, we went home together and talked about how our day went during our journey home.

It was our 'we' time together in the car, without the kids - something I cherished and looked forward to for the past couple of years.

So when my husband had to move to another state, I was devastated. I lost a pillar of my strength and support as I relied quite a lot on my husband.

I rarely ask for help from family members - most of my requests for help were to my husband. I feel uncomfortable asking for help even from my parents/parents in-law (this is a habit ingrained in me since childhood, I've been trying to let this habit go but process is still ongoing).

The first few weeks without my husband was quite a struggle for me (emotionally and mentally). The kids also needed time to adapt to a (temporary) life without their daddy.

Nowadays we are coping better with the absence of their daddy - I've managed to hire a maid to help with house chores (Alhamdulillah!) & convinced my little brother to ferry me to & fro from home to work during his semester break (which will end by 20/3, oh no!).

Another blessing in disguise is my transfer to a nearer workplace is approved, hurray! This means shorter travelling time (but not necessarily means lesser traffic), cheaper tolls & petrol and more time flexibility to prepare the kids in the morning.

Hopefully I can get to work earlier (since its nearer) and get back from work earlier, especially during Ramadhan.

Then again, traffic will be even worse in Ramadhan - since school has already started by then.

That's all I have to add for now. Till next time!
